What are the benefits of becoming a member of GBSNS?
As we live more graciously and intentionally on this Earth, green burial is a natural and accessible choice at the end of life.
As a member of GBSNS you can help advocate and spread awareness for the society and for globally-accessible, eco-friendly burial options.
You will receive our monthly newsletter with important information and updates about our society, a link to our monthly Green Burial Café, and an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals.
Through our fundraising and community events, the Green Burial Society of Nova Scotia is able to spread awareness and accessibility across the province. No donation is too small.
If you aren't in a financial situation where a donation is feasible, consider volunteering with us.

What does it mean to be a volunteer for GBSNS?
The benefits of volunteering are almost endless. You’ll be amazed at the ways a person can grow in just a few hours a month. Read on to hear what our volunteers say about helping GBSNS.
GBSNS has been functioning on volunteer efforts for years now. Donations have covered the cost of incorporating as a non-profit society, the cost of brochures and bookmarks, the cost of websites, and even the cost of transportation to do presentations, but this group could do more if it had more resources.
When GBSNS does presentations, I help print brochures and set up chairs.
Everyone can contribute a bit of time to helping spread the word!
I joined GBSNS just to find out about alternatives to the funeral industry. When I learned that almost nothing about it is ecological, I stayed with the society to help promote the fact that green burial is just about the only environmentally positive disposition method in Nova Scotia.
